Visit the Bribri Indigenous Territory, located in the heart of the tropical rainforest of the Talamanca Mountains, and immerse yourself in one of Costa Rica’s most authentic cultural experiences.
The adventure begins in Bambú, where you will travel upriver along the Yorkín River in a traditional canoe. As you glide through the water, admire the lush rainforest vegetation and the Panamanian mountain range surrounding you.
Upon arrival in Yorkín, a local Bribri guide will lead you along natural trails and share knowledge about the rainforest, traditional crops, medicinal plants, and daily life within the community. During the day, there is also time to swim in the Yorkín River and enjoy the surrounding nature.
You will experience the traditional process of chocolate making, from cacao to artisanal chocolate, enjoy traditional Bribri food prepared with local ingredients, and learn about Bribri history, worldview, language, and cultural traditions. Depending on the day and the activities taking place in the community, you may also take part in traditional crafts or activities such as basket weaving, roof thatching, or using a traditional bow and arrow.
For overnight stays, dinner is included and you will spend the night in a traditional wooden lodge with a palm-leaf roof, surrounded by the rainforest.

Drinking water is available in the community. Local jewellery, handicrafts and other handmade products can also be purchased, so bringing some cash is recommended.
