How you can help…
Interested in supporting our grassroots effort to sustain our communities?
ATEC is an active, grassroots, non-profit community organization, founded in 1990. In our first years, we received special grants, mainly from the Inter American Foundation (IAF), the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and the NC chapter of the Sierra Club. Since then, ATEC has been self-sustaining through the services we offer and the people who tour Talamanca with us. Nevertheless, ATEC often finds itself ‘scraping pots’ and trying to make ends meet in order to finance our own operational needs such as, equipment, staff, and our service projects in the communities which support Talamanca’s traditionally sustainable, family based economy.
